Kyle is shockingly, and obnoxiously picky about his spaghetti. I usually boil some spaghetti, pour on some sauce from a jar, and presto! It's done. That is NOT good enough for Kyle, and he scoffs at me mentioning an easier way. So enjoy Kyle's wonderful spaghetti. Yes, it is certainly better than mine, and probably all restaurants' spaghetti as well. Ingredients:
How to Cook:,Brown the ground beef until no longer pink.
Add the finely chopped onion, bell peppers, and marinara. Simmer for "as long as you can," according to Kyle. (On a good day, we try for an hour). While still simmering the sauce, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add in spaghetti and allow to boil for 10 minutes. Kyle's directions, "boil at least 10 more minutes." (So 15-20 total. We have now had to compromise and I take out my pasta before his). When all parties are ready and not complaining (namely Kyle), drain water from pasta, put on plate bowls and add the sauce. The longer we've allowed the sauce to simmer, the better it has been. This cannot be said for the pasta boiling time length. **Kyle's edit: "I don't complain, Annie. I critique. Like a professional." So there you have it. I also love adding Texas Toast, or some kind of garlic bread, but that is no surprise. Also, this should be eaten with salad or broccoli for a little balance. We hardly do, but it should be noted that greens are missing. This one may have beaten out the typical taco for us. Sometimes I season with a package of fajita mixed flavoring from the Latin American aisle (much to Kyle's chagrin), but most times I use this recipe from Taste of Home for their fajita seasoning. Either way they're delicious. Ingredients:
How to Cook:In a large bag, combine 2 tablespoons oil, lemon juice and all dry seasoning with the chicken. Seal bag and make sure seasoning is even distributed on all pieces of chicken.
Mix in veggies with the chicken. Add the fajita mix to warmed flour tortillas, and top with favorite toppings. Sometimes it's ok to skip the shell and sneak some cheese.
Don't be deceived by the picture. On the front page I attached the picture from the website where we found the recipe, just for a better visual. First time taking a crack at homemade soup, and I have to say it turned out AMAZING! Kyle thought it was better the second day, it had to grow on him, but I absolutely loved it. The recipe came from AverieCooks and I look forward to trying more of her recipes. Ingredients:

Outtakes:
This very simple recipe was done in a bind and desperation to eat something healthy that also has protein. That's usually my problem. I don't eat protein. Kyle has now taken on saying "a couple more bites of chicken," reminiscent of my dad when I was a child. Ingredients:
How to Cook:Wash chicken and cut chicken into small bites. Put a little bit of oil into a pan and skillet cook chicken until cooked all the way through. Add a little bit of salt and pepper for taste, but not too much so it doesn't over power the salad.
Set oven to 350 degrees. When ready toast bread for 5-7 minutes. Cut strawberries into quarters, cut lettuce, and hard boil egg if desired. Mix chicken, strawberries, lettuce and balsamic vinaigrette. Bon Appetit! I was emailed this recipe after subscribing to allrecipes.com. This is the first one I had tried. It was really easy to cook, I popped the ingredients in after school and had it ready for when Kyle got home from traveling by 9. It turned out really well. Fairly light and slightly sweet, and we had tons of extras! Ingredients:
How to Cook:Place chicken breasts into the bottom of a slow cooker. Pour pineapple chunks with juice over chicken. Drizzle with honey and soy sauce and sprinkle with brown sugar and ginger. Set cooker on High and cook for 1 hour. Reduce setting to Low and cook until chicken is cooked through, moist, and tender, about 6 more hours. (I just did 3.5 hours on high).
By far the easiest and best recipe we've done. This has saved us tons of overly ripe bananas. We've probably made 6 loaves in the past three months. The recipe can be found here. Ingredients:
How to Cook:Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and spray the baking tin (4x8-inch loaf pan). In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until completely smooth. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas. Mix in the baking soda and salt. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix in the flour. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour (we've usually needed an hour). Remove from oven and cool completely before digging in!
Now this one is a little cheat for Kyle and I because we make it fairly frequently, but it's definitely one of our favorites, and deserves a page on here. So here's the simple recipe. The fresher the ingredients the better the taste (thank you Kyle for teaching me that one). It's worth the wait at the fish market, rather than the pre-packaged meat. Ingredients:

Cook for 15-20 minutes.
Movie pairing for the night: Lars and the Real Girl. Really odd, but some how incredibly lovely and satisfying movie.

Tonight's pairing was with Star Wars Episode 4 and a Manhattan. A classic drink with a classic movie. RIP Princess Leia.
